History and background

The place before the programme

The University Library’s West Road building opened in 1934. Designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, its long brick wings and central tower make it a distinctive landmark west of Cambridge’s historic centre. The library is an active research institution as well as a venue for public exhibitions and events.

How it appears on screen

Location reporting identifies West Road and the University Library exterior in Series 1 Episode 3, around Lucy’s attempt to investigate James’s disappearance while posing as a reporter. This is a reported episode lead, not a claim that library interiors were filmed here. The exact approach shot, scene details and any interior use still need a broadcast frame check.
