Where to watch

Check the official service first

BBC iPlayer is the authoritative UK availability route. International catalogues, licensing windows and episode release patterns can change, so the Casebook does not promise that a title is currently playable in every territory.

That February 2025 announcement reported sales across 85 markets; Big Talk’s current company record now reports acquisition in more than 100 territories. Visitors should check the named local service for current dates and episode availability. Read the ITV Studios announcement →

Accessible viewing

Check the official player for each episode

BBC guidance says accessible versions can include subtitles, audio description and signed options where available. Availability can vary by programme and device, so the Casebook does not promise an access service it has not directly verified.

Tell us what you found

If an official Ludwig episode lists an accessible version, send the episode, service, territory and check date. The availability ledger can then record it without treating a platform-wide policy as episode-level proof.

Ratings

Series 1’s launch audience reached 9.5 million over 28 days, making it the BBC’s biggest comedy launch since at least 2018. The measurement window is important: this is not an overnight figure. Source.

Series 2 Episode 1 reached 9.1 million viewers over 28 days, including 5.5 million on BBC iPlayer. The BBC’s 28 September 2026 release describes it as the year’s largest scripted launch across broadcasters and streaming services. The six-week BBC One run ended on 24 September. Source.

The 9.1 million and iPlayer figures are also reported in Radio Times’ dated ratings report. Overnight viewing is a different measure and is not used in this comparison.
