About the project

A fan site with receipts.

The aim is simple: make the best organised independent guide to Ludwig without pretending to be official, copying the BBC's visual identity or turning fan theories into fake facts.

One project, several ways to investigate

The connected desks summarise the Casebook as an independent, puzzle-minded and evidence-led fan archive.

Principle 01

Original writing

Episode notes, character guides, walking routes and analysis are written for this site rather than copied from broadcasters, press releases or other fan pages.

Principle 02

Spoiler control

Readers can set how far they have watched, while episode solutions and James-mystery developments remain clearly signposted and separated from preview material.

Principle 03

Source transparency

Official production announcements are preferred for production facts; reputable secondary sources are identified as such.

Editorial coverage

What is finished—and what is not

The archive labels incomplete work instead of hiding it behind confident presentation.

Core archive

Established

Series 1 dossiers, the archive structure, sourcing standard, puzzle background and principal character relationships.

Growing

under way

Scene-level evidence, Series 2 broadcast verification, complete guest-cast records and location appearances.

Watchlist

Monitored

Series 3 production, verified casting information and official announcements. Rumours remain quarantined.

Visual identity

Inspired by puzzles, not copied branding

The cream paper, case-file cards, typewriter notes and geometric grid system are original design choices. We intentionally avoid copying BBC logos, key art, programme title treatments or publicity stills.

Unofficial status: The Ludwig Casebook is not affiliated with or endorsed by the BBC, Big Talk Studios, ITV Studios, Mark Brotherhood, David Mitchell, Anna Maxwell Martin or other programme rights-holders.
