Quick answers

Is Ludwig on BBC iPlayer?

Check the official BBC iPlayer page for the current UK catalogue.

When does Ludwig Season 2 reach BritBox?

BritBox says 13 October 2026 in North America, with weekly episodes.

Choose the right edition and service

In the UK, the BBC programme page and BBC iPlayer are the first places to check for current availability. Both six-episode series were commissioned for BBC television, and iPlayer commonly carries the complete runs after broadcast. Availability windows and sign-in rules can change, so the button on this page opens the broadcaster rather than promising permanent access. A valid TV Licence is required when watching live television or using BBC iPlayer under UK rules.

North American listings often use Season 1 and Season 2, while the BBC uses Series 1 and Series 2. BritBox is the announced home in the United States and Canada. Series 2/Season 2 is scheduled to arrive on 13 October 2026. Check the local BritBox listing on or after that date because subscription tiers, release pattern and regional catalogue entries are controlled by the service. The Christmas special is a separate programme event and should not be assumed to appear on the same day as the six regular episodes.

Episode order and spoilers

Watch Series 1 Episodes 1–6 before Series 2 Episodes 1–6. Each instalment contains a self-contained murder, but the disappearance of James, Lucy and Henry’s discoveries, Holly Pinder’s information trade and the Kemper investigation advance in order. Beginning with a later episode will reveal the outcome of John’s impersonation and several Series 1 twists. The Casebook’s episode pages keep full solutions behind native disclosure controls, but streaming menus and promotional stills may contain their own spoilers.

DVD, Blu-ray and ownership

Physical releases are useful for viewers who want a shelf copy, subtitles specified on the packaging or access that does not depend on a streaming catalogue. Confirm the series number, region code, disc format and seller before ordering. A DVD will not provide Blu-ray resolution, and a Region 2 UK disc may not play in equipment sold for another region. Product artwork can also be reused across editions, so use the written listing rather than the cover alone. Links labelled “Ad – affiliate link” may earn the publisher a commission without changing the price.

Accessibility and travel viewing

Subtitle, audio-description and sign-language availability can differ by episode, platform and device. Consult the accessibility row on the actual playback page before subscribing for a particular feature. Downloads, simultaneous streams and offline expiry are service functions, not properties of the programme, and may vary by plan. Travelling abroad can change which catalogue appears; this guide does not recommend bypassing territorial restrictions.

If an episode is missing

First confirm that you are looking at the correct territory and series label. Search for both “Ludwig Series 2” and “Ludwig Season 2”, then check the broadcaster or distributor’s official help pages. A temporary absence may reflect rights windows, schedule changes or a listing problem. Avoid unlicensed uploads: they may be incomplete, unsafe and unfair to the people who made the programme. The Casebook links to official services and legitimate physical media rather than hosting episodes.

Before you choose a service

Availability is tied to territory, subscription level and date. In the UK, the official BBC iPlayer programme page is the clearest starting point because it shows which episodes are currently playable and whether signing in is required. A UK television licence may be needed to watch BBC television live or use BBC iPlayer; check the current official licensing guidance rather than relying on an old fan summary.

In the United States and Canada, use the official BritBox Ludwig page and confirm whether the series is included in your current plan. Series 2—also described as Season 2 for North American audiences—arrives on 13 October 2026 with episodes released weekly. Release times and the number of episodes available on the first day can vary by platform.

Physical media remains useful for viewers who prefer a permanent copy, subtitles listed on the packaging and freedom from streaming-window changes. Check the region code and format before ordering a DVD or Blu-ray, especially across the UK and North America. The product card above is clearly marked where it uses an affiliate link.

US remake

Big Talk has hired US writers Megan Ganz and Jonathan E. Steinberg for an American remake. British Comedy Guide’s 4 April 2025 report says it will use a different title; no network has been announced in that report. The remake is a separate project from the original series’ BritBox release. Source.

Is there a Ludwig Series 2 Episode 7?

No. Series 2 had six numbered episodes. A separate Christmas special follows in December 2026, and Series 3 is expected in 2027. See the Christmas special guide and Series 3 guide for the separate release plans. Big Talk Studios announced the 2026 Christmas special; British Comedy Guide reports Series 3 as expected in 2027.
