Where is Perrin’s Lane?

Perrin’s Lane is just off Hampstead High Street in north London. FilmFixer’s report of 10 September 2026 confirms that Ludwig filmed there for Series 2 Episode 5. It is the street location to look for when following the episode’s sushi-bar setting. The report does not name the sushi-bar business, so the guide leaves it unnamed.

The lane makes a straightforward stop on a Hampstead walk. Start with the High Street, find the turn into Perrin’s Lane and take time to look along the street before continuing through the village. You can visit the public lane without buying a ticket. Keep doorways and the walking route clear so residents, customers and deliveries can carry on around you.

Getting there by Underground

Use Hampstead Underground station on the Northern line. TfL gives the station address as Hampstead High Street, making it a convenient starting point for the lane. Leave the station for the High Street and use a street map to find Perrin’s Lane. Check TfL’s journey planner and station information before travelling, particularly if you need help with access.

Hampstead Underground and Hampstead Heath station are separate stops. For this short village visit, choose Hampstead Underground when planning the journey. If you want to combine the filming street with a longer walk on the heath, plan your outward and return journeys around the route you actually want to take. Carry the lane’s name with you so you can find the correct turn once you reach the High Street.

What to see nearby in Hampstead

Visit London’s Hampstead guide describes a neighbourhood of small streets, shops, cafés and historic houses beside Hampstead Heath. The High Street is a useful place to begin: you can see Perrin’s Lane, browse the surrounding streets and stop for a drink without building the afternoon around a single filming location.

For local history, consider Burgh House, which Visit London identifies as a Grade I-listed Queen Anne building with a small museum and café. For a literary stop, Keats House explores the poet’s life and work. Check the individual venues’ current opening times and admission information before making them part of your day.

If you would rather spend the rest of the visit outdoors, continue towards Hampstead Heath. Visit London highlights the heath and Parliament Hill for walks and views across London. Allow more time for this than for the short street stop: choose a route that suits the weather and your energy, and decide where you want to finish before setting off.

The Collector connection

Ludwig is not the lane’s first screen appearance. FilmFixer also records Perrin’s Lane in The Collector, the thriller released in 1965. That gives this small street a second film connection to look out for on a visit. If you enjoy comparing locations across productions, add the film to your viewing list and see how the same street feels in a different story.

A simple afternoon plan is to arrive at Hampstead Underground, visit Perrin’s Lane, then choose either a historic-house stop or a walk towards the heath. The Ludwig location is a public street, so you can keep the filming stop brief and spend the rest of the day enjoying Hampstead itself. The Episode 5 recap is best read after watching if you want to avoid the case’s solution.
