Where is the police station in Ludwig filmed?

The police station exteriors in Ludwig were filmed at 2 The Square, Stockley Park, in west London. The interiors were built elsewhere, so the on-screen station combines a real office exterior with a separate set.

History and background

The place before the programme

Stockley Park transformed a former brickmaking and landfill landscape into Britain’s pioneering large-scale business park. It opened in 1986; Phase II, now called The Square, followed in the 1990s. Arup Associates designed 2 The Square as part of that later group of energy-conscious office buildings.

How it appears on screen

The exterior of 2 The Square is identified as the fictional Cambridge police building. The principal station interior was constructed elsewhere, so exterior and interior should not be treated as one real place.

Responsible access

Before visiting

2 The Square is a working office building, not a public tour venue. The estate has a Nature Trail that management says is open to everyone, but this is a separate outdoor option, not permission to enter 2 The Square, its reception, occupier parking or filming spaces. Ask park management about any access or photography plans beyond an ordinary visit to permitted outdoor routes.

  • Find it: 2 The Square, Stockley Park, Uxbridge UB11 1AD. Use the estate’s directions to reach The Square, rather than the Management Centre postcode.
  • By public transport: Hayes & Harlington and West Drayton are the two nearby Elizabeth line stations. TfL route U5 serves a stop named The Square. Check live TfL directions before travelling. The estate’s peak-time shuttle is described as a service for members/occupiers, so do not count on it as a public visitor service.
  • By car: The estate’s main road entrance is from Stockley Road (A408) into Bennetsfield Road. Published building parking figures describe occupier provision, not guaranteed visitor parking. Arrange any authorised building visit and parking with the host first.
  • Hours and cost: No public tour hours, admission charge or fan-visitor booking route is published for 2 The Square. The building website advertises office space and contact with letting agents, not public admission. Outdoor access may change; check with park management before a special journey.
  • Access and facilities: The estate travel plan describes footpaths through the site, but no current public step-free route audit to this particular viewpoint was found. The building advertises a passenger lift and accessible WCs for its occupiers; these are not public visitor facilities. Contact park management for current route or access advice.
  • Public outdoor option: Stockley Park says its Nature Trail is open to everyone, with QR-code stops about local history and wildlife. It does not publish a step-free trail audit or confirm that the trail passes the filmed building. Check the current trail and park rules before travelling.
  • Food and toilets: The estate lists The Set coffee bar at The Squareabout, Monday to Friday 07:00–15:30. Check current trading before relying on it; the estate does not confirm a public toilet at 2 The Square or in The Set.
  • Photography: Stay on permitted paths, respect staff and occupiers, and do not enter a building or car park to reproduce a shot. The photograph above shows The Square generally; it is not proof of the building used on screen.
