Biography

From repertory stages to television and film

Sian Clifford’s professional credits extend across theatre, television, film and voice performance. Her United Agents record lists Claire in both series of Fleabag, Martha Crawley in Vanity Fair, Diana Ingram in Quiz and later screen parts in Life After Life, Doctor Who and Unstable. These are selected representative-supplied credits rather than an exhaustive, screen-checked filmography.

In a 2024 Channel 4 interview, Clifford discussed joining the second series of Everyone Else Burns as Maude. She described the character as a late addition to the scripts and said she had already watched the first series. The broadcaster’s first-person account supplies a dated career milestone and her own description of the role; it does not establish a complete screen-credit chronology.

The same record lists film parts in See How They Run, Chevalier, The Duke and The Ballad of Wallis Island. It also records Clifford as Joanne Kemper in Ludwig Series 2. this page separates released work, agency-listed credits and episode appearance verification instead of treating every entry as reviewed at its broadcast source.

Beyond the screen

Stage, radio and voice roles

United Agents lists stage work including Rachel in Consent, Gloria and Nan in Gloria, Lucy in Pains of Youth, and Elsa in The Road to Mecca. The CV also lists BBC Radio 4’s Life in the Freezer and a voice part in Star Wars: The Bad Batch. These titles show the range of documented media, but the page does not infer a complete chronology where the source does not supply dates.

Photographs

Rights-cleared portrait

The header uses the credited, openly licensed portrait shown above, resized and converted to WebP for this site. No Ludwig production still or agency photograph is reproduced without permission or a compatible licence.

Skills

No inferred casting details

The representative record documents stage, screen, radio and voice credits. It does not establish a current, approved list of accents, languages, movement, instruments or specialist skills for this page. Those remain unlisted until an authorised casting CV confirms them.

Training

RADA graduate

The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art lists Clifford’s BA in Acting degree and 2006 graduation. No additional school, coach or specialist-training claim is made here without a source.

Awards and recognition

A BAFTA win and Emmy nomination

BAFTA names Clifford the 2020 Female Performance in a Comedy winner for Fleabag. The Television Academy records a 2019 Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series nomination for her portrayal of Claire. The Emmy entry is a nomination, not a win; the two records refer to different awarding bodies and years.
