Biography

A career across classical stage and television

Claire Price has worked in theatre, television and film across three decades. The Royal Shakespeare Company’s actor biography documents stage work including Brand, Volpone, Don Carlos, King Lear and The Pride, alongside screen credits including Rebus, Poirot, Midsomer Murders, Call the Midwife and The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Those are selected credits, not a complete dated filmography.

In a 2004 first-person interview, Price described being born in Chesterfield and studying English literature at Queen Mary, University of London, before a one-year acting diploma at Guildford Drama School. The interview is a historical account, not evidence of her current home or representation.

Selected work

Theatre roles and screen performances

The RSC’s 2019 production record names her as Petruchia in Justin Audibert’s gender-swapped The Taming of the Shrew. Its 2023 press biography lists her sharing Sylvia Daisy Pouncer in The Box of Delights and describes other RSC, Sheffield and National Theatre work.

Orange Tree Theatre’s 2025 cast announcement names Price as Lydia Cruttwell in In Praise of Love and supplies a broad stage-credit list. ITV’s This Morning item identifies her as Miriam in Home Fires. Full role-by-role screen dates and stage venues still need a separate reconciliation.

Skills

Casting details not inferred

Her published work documents classical and contemporary stage performance as well as screen acting. A performed accent or role is not proof of a current casting skill. Accents, languages, voice range, movement and other specialist details remain unlisted without a current authorised CV.

Training

Literature and acting

In her 2004 interview, Price states that she received a first-class degree in English literature from Queen Mary’s College, University of London, and then completed a one-year acting diploma at Guildford Drama School. Graduation years and subsequent training are not supplied in that account.

Professional contact

Representation check

The RSC and Orange Tree cast biographies establish the identity and substantial credits, but do not verify a current agent or booking route. The Casebook does not publish an inferred representative or private contact details. A current agency or Spotlight profile remains to be confirmed.
