Trust and suspicion method

A state scale without invented percentages

This scale will govern future character charts. It describes evidence in the story rather than claiming access to a character’s private certainty.

StateUse only whenDo not infer
Confirmed trustA checked action or statement shows reliance despite a meaningful risk.Friendship, affection or complete belief.
Working relianceCharacters cooperate for a task, with no stronger claim justified.Personal trust beyond that task.
UncertainThe evidence supports competing readings or the character has not committed.A hidden motive chosen by the editor.
Active suspicionA checked action or statement shows doubt affecting behaviour.Certainty of guilt or deception.
UnknownNo scene-level evidence has been verified.Neutrality, trust or suspicion.

Charts will cite an episode hinge and a concise paraphrase of the supporting scene. Audience knowledge, character knowledge and editorial inference will remain separate fields.
