What the special needs to clarify

Each question will be marked answered, partly answered or still open after transmission.

What changes when the family investigates together?

The announcement places John, Lucy and Henry at the same hotel. The open question is how their different information and methods divide the work.

How strict is the locked-room problem?

A blackout, a blizzard and trapped guests are confirmed. The room, route and timing constraints that make the crime “impossible” are not.

What can the blackout conceal?

The loss of light may affect movement, sightlines or witness certainty. Which of those matters remains unknown until transmission.

Does the hotel isolate the case from Cambridge?

The Yorkshire setting is confirmed, but the announcement does not say whether the Cambridge team or James investigation connects to the episode.

Why is Sir David Suchet’s character a suspect?

His suspect status is confirmed; identity, motive, opportunity and relationship to the other guests are not.

Which questions must remain separate?

Victim, culprit, mechanism, motive and any James connection are distinct unknowns. They should not be bundled into a single theory before evidence exists.

No hindsight editing

This dated list will not be rewritten as though later knowledge were available. When official information or the broadcast answers a question, the answer will be added beside the original wording with its own verification date.

That protects the difference between a genuine pre-broadcast question and a retrospective claim.
